Teachers should ask leading questions, such as "How do you know that?"
Teachers should avoid closed ended questions and should instead use questions that provoke discussion.
Teachers should help students by guiding them through applying knowledge/thinking through a problem. This will help students to get to the end goal without "cookbook instructions" and rote memorization.
Teachers could provide students with opportunities in which they think deeply about a solution and ultimately develop the original problem.
